Lightly toast the sourdough slices to your preferred level of crispness — golden on the outside, soft in the middle works best. -
Spread the peanut butter:
While the toast is still warm, spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter over each slice. Let it melt in slightly for added richness. -
Add the figs:
Arrange the sliced figs neatly on top of the peanut butter. Slightly overlapping them creates a lovely presentation. -
Drizzle with honey:
Drizzle a spoonful of honey evenly over the figs. Use good-quality runny honey for the best result. -
Optional: Add walnuts:
Sprinkle with chopped walnuts for a bit of crunch and an earthy finish. You can also toast the walnuts lightly beforehand to enhance the flavour.
