The Story Behind Dope

Dope Nutz was founded by Bruno Fonseca, a Brazilian who first landed in Australia in 2010. He fell in love with the place, but went back home, finished his engineering degree, and years later, started making nut butters in his mum’s kitchen.


What began as a side project slowly became Eat Clean, which grew into Brazil’s leading brand.

In 2022, Bruno and his wife decided it was time to chase a new dream and return to Australia. He sold the company to one of Latin America’s biggest supplement companies, DUX.

In 2024, they made the move and settled in the sunny coastal town of Kingscliff, NSW.

It didn’t take long for Bruno to spot the gap:

Australia had the nuts, but no nut butter brand was bringing flavour, style and a clean label to the table. So in 2025, Dope Nutz was born, spreading nuttin but the good stuff from Kingscliff to the world.
